 What is the negative impact of these difficult circumstances that we are going through in Lebanon?!!

 

 

In my opinion, it has a negative impact, especially for students, and the parents have become their main goal to secure basic things such as food, electricity ... and the negative impact on the psyche ...

Everything, therefore, I say to him in a positive direction, and that depends on the thinking of each of us, and how each person views things, the negative effects are almost clear, but the positive we are the ones who make it from the heart of the difficulties, and that requires us to be patient first, work and progress and not give up, even  If only it was a simple progress, especially in education.

Some solutions

 We are now in the age of the Internet, so we have no way to teach except online. Before, the Internet had a use, but in a special case and not very reliable.

 As a teacher, I have goals and plans to convey information in education. It is not good for me to lose sight of the ways that help me, facilitate and help students, for example:

-Make sure to share your expectations for students at the start of the course, including how much time they should expect to put in, where to find their course materials and submit work, and where they can look for help. We should also ensure that students have a basic familiarity with any technology that will be used in the course.  Check back in with them throughout the semester to see how everyone is doing and give them a chance to ask any questions they may have.

-Using Participation in Discussion. This method is thought-provoking and interesting and students have the opportunity to share their own experiences and perceptions.

-Let the students get to know me and see me as a person ,not just a talking head or a name on a screen. Record short videos for them and spend time engaging in discussion boards. 

-I use chats, discussion boards for collaboration.

Challenges I face in the online learning

 The challenges I face today due to online learning are adaptability, technical issues, distractions, computer knowledge, etc.

Students in this education feel that they are far from the teacher, despite many attempts to get close to the students, and this causes discouragement and participation in them and affects their understanding or study of the material.

 There are problems with electricity and internet outages and students’ absence from their lessons, and this constitutes a delay.

 Students are not familiar with the use of computers and some of the educational programs that help them, and many of them I find that they do not try to learn to use them.

 I find the biggest problem is the students’ dependence on each other in assignments or transferring information without understanding it, and their concern is about education only the final mark, and they do not want to know the importance of the lessons and information they take, and this makes me feel as a teacher something negative and my insistence on trying with them no matter how small the result.

What can we do ?!

 We can do now like to : 

Visit a senior center and take part in its events and activities

Play cards or other games with friends

Go to the theater, a movie, or a sporting event

Travel with a group of older adults, such as a retiree group

Visit friends and family

Try different restaurants

Join a group interested in a hobby like knitting, hiking, birdwatching, painting, or wood carving

Reconnect with old friends through your high school or college alumni association

Visit local museums. Many offer free group tours.

Take cooking, art, dance, language, or computer class. Get in touch with your local community college. Many offer free or discounted courses for older adults.

Form or join a book or film club

Try yoga, tai chi, or another new physical activity

Learn (or relearn) how to play a musical instrument

Become more active in your community

Serve meals or organize clothing donations for people in need

Help an organization send care packages to soldiers stationed overseas

Care for dogs and cats at an animal shelter

Volunteer to run errands for people with disabilities

Join a committee or volunteer for an activity at your place of worship

Volunteer at a school, library, museum, or hospital

Help with gardening at a community garden or park

Organize a park clean-up through your local recreation center or community association.

Digital Citizen

 It is not difficult for a person to maintain himself to be a good digital citizen, it is sufficient for him to develop the skills and knowledge to effectively use the internet and digital technologies, who uses digital technologies and the internet responsibly and appropriately to engage and participate in society.

Therefore I as a teacher first  I support students at organisational, departmental, programme and individual level.

And the important thing is to see what it's like to treat everyone around us, even our students...treat others the way you want them to treat you online.

     And in the end, the only thing we can be is ourselves.  If I am going to post funny videos, I will keep in mind that I have a large audience.  Although we were taught as children not to judge a book by its cover, friends, family, and even future employers will look at it because the World Wide Web is not just an open source of information, it makes our lives an open book.

 Online assessment tools for teachers are a necessary part of the learning picture.  From one day to the next we need to know what our students understand.

 PowerPoint.  

This application helps the teacher to organize the explanation of her lesson on all the slides by placing pictures, recording her voice, or even placing videos.

 Zoom. 

This application helps a lot in giving lessons, applying image and sound together, and sharing the screen, which allows the teacher to display her information to the students, and most importantly, we can record and keep everything.

 Google doc

This application helps in writing, and corrects errors in grammar in English and Arabic as well, and the advantage is that more than one person can write on it at the same time.

 Viva video

This application helps the teacher to create videos for children to help them in their lesson, and any video can be modified.

 Google slides 

is close to powerpoint.  In addition, anyone can use it at the same time.

 Google classroom

A wonderful application that helps the teacher in sending jobs and messages to students, and more than one person can use it.
